Adam J. Rana, MD presented his work Building a Patient-Reported Outcome Metric Database: One Hospital's Experience at the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Symposium: Patient Reported Outcome Measures: This is your New Reality.

American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons announced the appointment of Brian J. McGrory, MD, as the founding Editor-in-Chief for the new medical journal, Arthroplasty Today.

Adam J. Rana, MD, and George Babikian, MD, traveled to Dubai and Singapore to instruct surgeons on the anterior-based muscle-sparing approach (ABLE advanced anterior approach) for total hip arthroplasty.

Adam J. Rana, MD, and Brian J. McGrory, MD attended the World Experts Meeting in Arthroplasty in Istanbul, Turkey, contributing to the following discussions:

• Does the type of femoral stem and/or femoral head influence the rate of adverse local tissue reactions (ALTR) after primary total hip arthroplasty?
• Is there a difference in outcomes between collared and non-collared uncemented femoral stems in primary total hip arthroplasty?
